Join CIDA for a FUN trip to the Frontside of Santa Cruz Island aboard the Spectre dive boat with a limited load of 25 divers.
The Frontside of Santa Cruz Island has some excellent diving with walls, pinnacles, and a wreck known as the Spirit of America. Many of these sites are seldom dived and have something for everyone.
The Frontside of Santa Cruz Islands has some exceptional diving and if you keep a watchful eye out you might see some beagles. The Northeast side of Santa Cruz Island includes some of the more well-known dive sites such as Coche Point, Potato Rock, Scorpion’s Anchorage, and the wreck of the Spirit of America, also known as the Peacock.
Many of the dive sites in this area are up against the island, on pinnacles and large rocks such as Potato Rock and Scorpion Rock or protected coves. These sites can be good for hunting and photography with depths of 20’-100’ and visibility from 15’-50’. Some of these areas can be good for spearfishing, scallops collecting, photography, and the occasional sighting of sea lions and harbor seals.
This trip is best suited for
Advanced divers and above that have experience in cold water conditions including; current, swell, possible limited visibility and deep water. Most importantly, good buoyancy control is needed and surface signal tubes are always recommended.
