Trip Highlights

Tubbataha is more than just the Philippines’ finest diving destination – it’s an important part of the country’s national heritage. Tubbataha was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993 and is also featured on the 1000 Philippine peso banknote. Tubbataha attracts some of the biggest marine life such as whale sharks, manta rays and sharks plus sometimes the occasional hammerhead and tiger sharks. Besides the big stuff, Tubbataha also has spectacular schools of fish like jacks and barracuda plus a never-ending carpet of coral and lots of turtles to go with it.

Sign-up with CIDA and when there all you need to do is get in the water, go with the current and drift along the wall or reef to blow your mind with an explosion of colors and variety of marine life!

The Itinerary

Some logistics still need to be worked. For now we plan to arrive at least 1-2 days early flying into Cebu as suggested by the Siren Fleet. Currently we plan to stay at the Hotel Centro in Puerto Princesa which is where the yacht departs from at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021. We will be aboard the yacht the following 7 days diving and having the time of our life and making new friends. Unfortunately we will have to depart at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. What we do afterward the boat trip is anyone's guess. The trip is still quite a ways off. We have and thought about several things including extending the trip for 3-4 more days somewhere rather close to avoid extra flights. If you have ideas please let us know?

The Accommodations

The 130' ft. S/Y Philippine Siren was built by divers for divers. It was designed and built using lessons learned from their first yacht the S/Y Siren. The 8 cabins are all situated forward of the engine room with 2 fixed double bed cabins located at the bow and 6 twin bed cabins throughout the remaining lower deck quarters, however they do offer flexibility with 2 cabins that can be converted from twin to double if needed  (cabins 5 & 6). The outdoor dining area offers a wonderful setting for meals with a view. The yacht is very spacious including the dive deck. They also have  indoor and outdoor workstations for charging, preparation and maintenance of your camera and video equipment as well as numerous charging points, with adapters available (sockets are 2-pin European style at 220 v or 110 v) Naturally, we also have large rinse tanks with fresh water. The S/Y Philippine Siren truly sets out to be the pros choice for underwater photography and videography.

This trip is best suited for

All level divers and a great choice for divers wanting to sharpen their diving skills for more advanced trips. The dive sites visited have something for everyone. Good buoyancy control and surface signal tubes are always recommended.
